-Englewood

Englewood, Florida is a lovely Gulf coastal city stretching throughout Sarasota and Charlotte Counties, easily accessible as a day trip from nearby Tampa or Fort Myers. The gorgeous city is known for its unspoiled, uncrowded beaches, which offer a less-trafficked alternative to more popular area tourist spots. Englewood is located on Florida’s west coast, less than an hour’s drive from the Punta Gorda Airport.

Venice

Venice is a city on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It’s known for Venice Beach, with its offshore coral reef, and Caspersen Beach, where shark teeth are often found. Multi-use trails hug the Intracoastal Waterway in Venetian Waterway Park. Venice, Florida is famous for its world-class beaches and stunning natural beauty. However, this Gulf Coast city isn’t only known for its 14 miles of beach: it’s also a fascinating town with a rich history and culture.

Rotonda West

Located on the southwest coast of Florida, Rotonda West is a lovely, established community in the picturesque area known as Cape Haze. This area is an unincorporated, deed-restricted community situated in Charlotte County, Rotonda West is the perfect size to make new friends, get involved in many activities, and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor recreation.

Port Charlotte

Port Charlotte features more than 165 miles of waterways, providing access to Charlotte Harbor, the Gulf of Mexico, and miles of natural shoreline bordering Charlotte Harbor and the Peace and Myakka rivers. Seven of the 21 golf courses located in Charlotte County are found in Port Charlotte. The Tampa Bay Rays call Port Charlotte their home for spring training.  7,500 fans pack the stadium during home games and enjoy the ballpark festivities.

This beautiful ballpark has won awards for being the best spring training facility. It has a kids play area, an outfield bar, and an awesome boardwalk that rings the field. There is even a covered area to take a break from the Florida sunshine.

Placida

Placida sits on the southwestern tip of the Cape Haze Peninsula, where State Road (SR) 771 (Placida Road) turns into SR 776 (Gasparilla Road), and where Coral Creek and Gasparilla Sound meet. This small community offers easy access to all the amenities of a larger destination with the quieter, laid-back attitude of Old Florida. Like Cape Haze, tons of activities are minutes away, from boating and fishing or swimming and shelling on Englewood Beach to parasailing and Jet Ski tours. The Placida Park Boat Ramp is the perfect place to launch your boat and explore, fish, and enjoy Placida Harbor and the surrounding waterways and secluded keys and islets.

Boca Grande

Boca Grande may have hosted Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Audrey Hepburn and the George H. W. Bush family, but the elite island of Boca Grande is still a place where regular folks can have a grand Old Florida experience. Boca Grande, population 1,700, began as a fishing village and it is tarpon-fishing that still makes it famous world-wide. The downtown is fun to explore because so many historic churches, stores and homes have been not only preserved, but prettified to postcard perfection. There are no chain restaurants, no high rises, nothing to spoil the quaint resort town. You will find, however, gift shops, boutiques, cafes and, during the season, whole fleets of golf carts parked. The shelling here, like on nearby Cayo Costa, the remote island state park directly across the pass, is excellent, especially in winter. The sand is powdery and white; the water is sparkling and turquoise.
